Draw Your Idea is a good drawing tool and a great collaboration tool. It lets you make sketches and drawings with simple, easy to use, tools. The drawings are kept in a vector format (rather than a paint format) so they can easily be edited.

Real-time, collaborative, editing - You can invite a group of friends or colleagues to work on a drawing with you. You share chat messages and see all edits as they are saved. This makes Draw Your Idea a great tool for developing ideas or communicating in remote groups.

Public or private - For each drawing, you can choose to keep it private to yourself, share it with selected friends or colleagues or make it visible to anybody.

Saving and Exporting - Your drawings are saved as part of the Draw Your idea site but you can also export a drawing as a .PNG graphics file if you want to save it offline, print it or include it in another document.

You can try out Draw Your Idea without signing up - just click on Start a new Drawing. You cannot save or share this anonymous type of drawing without signing in but you can try out the drawing tools and you can export it locally.

Signing up is free and will allow you to save drawings and share them with friends and colleagues. You can easily log in or sign up

You can link up with friends directly or set up groups to make it easier to work together.

Rather than using client software written in Java or Flash, the Draw Your Idea site uses HTML5 Canvas elements and Javascript to draw pictures and a selection of client connection techniques to get real-time responses. This makes it easy to try out and also makes it usable in restricted environments. However, browser support for HTML5 is not consistent and so this site will not work with Microsoft's Internet Explorer (currently, no versions of IE will work). I recommend that you use a modern, standards-compliant browser such as Chrome, Opera or Firefox.
